What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Similar technologies such as local storage work the same way. They allow a site to remember something between page views.
Categories we may use
Essential. Required for pages to load and display correctly. These cannot be switched off within the site.
Analytics. Aggregate measurement of which pages are read, how far people scroll, and which links are clicked. Used to improve the content, not to identify you.
Affiliate attribution. When you follow a link to a retailer, that retailer may set a cookie so a resulting purchase can be attributed to this site. The cookie is set by the retailer, not by us, and it does not increase what you pay.
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete existing ones, or open pages in a private window that discards them on close. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to read anything here.
Blocking affiliate cookies is also fine. It simply means a purchase you make will not be attributed to this site.
Changes
If the set of technologies used here changes, this page will be updated along with the date shown above.
